Operation Vulcan has repurposed and recycled over 300 tonnes of counterfeit items Operation Vulcan was implemented in November 2022 to crack down on the criminality in the area which has blighted the communities of Cheetham Hill and Strangeways for decades. This has exposed children to serious violence and subjecting honest business owners to extortion. The counterfeit shops are just the tip of the iceberg with many customers perceiving these bargains as a victimless crime. Unfortunately, these cash-only businesses have resulted in hundreds of thousands of pounds being funnelled into the criminal market, funding the drug trade, firearms, exploitation, and money laundering. Six months on, and police have shut down over 100 counterfeit shops. GMP: Cocaine dealer rumbled by Salford's anti-gang cops

A cocaine dealer from Weaste has been jailed after GMP's anti-gang cops in Salford caught him in a car with ketamine, before they went on to uncover the raft of class A, B, and C drugs he intended to sell. What happened then? Luke Oliver (28) became the latest to be rumbled by officers from our Operation Naseby disruption taskforce that has helped drive down shootings in the city by over 70% since its inception two years ago after 300 arrests, over 300 car seizures, nearly 130 house searches, and around 50kilos of drugs recovered. Manchester Crown Court heard how Oliver was spotted by patrols in Weaste in April in a vehicle linked to a cannabis dealer who the Op Naseby team had recently helped to jail. Officers stopped the black Volkswagen Golf and spotted cash and observed that Oliver – the sole occupant of the car – appeared nervous and looked as though he had taken drugs. Trafford: Five charged as result of Operation Wellington

Five people have been charged following a day of action in Trafford. Operation Wellington took place across the district yesterday (24 May 2022) when a total of nine people were arrested as officers carried out a series of arrest warrants. Lee Alan Bird (5/3/1989), of Lemon Tree Grove, Urmston, has been charged with a breach of a court order Haley Coleman (11/12/1981), of Hatton’s Court, Stretford, has been charged with theft Callum Hinds (20/8/1996), of Helsby Road, Sale, has been charged with possession with intent to supply drugs and aggravated vehicle taking Bernard Gordon (27/12/1976), of Mulberry Court, Salford, has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle Tony Porter (4/2/93), of Ashton Lane, Sale, has been charged with failing to appear at court They are all due to appear at court over the next weeks. GMP: Five men charged in connection with high-value vehicle thefts

Five men will appear in court charged with stealing vehicles with an estimated value of around £730,000. A statement on the Greater Manchester Police website reads: They will all appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on Monday 16 May 2022 charged with conspiracy to steal and going equipped. The five are: Michael Andrews (12/09/1989), of Bingley Road, Rochdale John Langley (18/04/1994), of Moss Street, Rochdale Shaun Arif Andrews (30/12/1993), of Geneva Terrace, Rochdale Faizal Hussain (09/08/1993), of Shaw Road, Oldham Nazish Shakeel (28/05/1992), of Northmoor Road, Longsight All five men were remanded into custody ahead of the court appearances. They were arrested by GMP's Tactical Vehicle Intercept Unit on 13 May 2022 with the investigation carried out by officers from GMP's Trafford district. Chief Constable Stephen Watson was answering this questions this morning in the BBC Radio Manchester 'hotseat'. He was asked questions on a range of subjects including anti-social behaviour, local policing, violent crime, policing of the roads and transport links, and iOPS. Here are some of the answers given Impact of COVID on staffing levels, he said: "They are holding up.
