Man United sign Lecce defender Dorgu

Manchester United have made a new signing The Old Trafford club have confirmed that Patrick Dorgu has joined the club, subject to visa and registration. Author -  Liam Chadwick The Denmark international has signed a contract until June 2030, with the option of an additional year. Dorgu, 20, has played 57 games for Lecce, contributing five goals already. The versatile defender has enjoyed an excellent season so far, having won the second-most ground duels in Serie A and attempted the fourth most take-ons of any defender in the league. Patrick Dorgu told the Manchester United website: “I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player; this is a very special day for my whole family. “I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim; his vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting. With so much instability at Old Trafford, is this a good decision? Manchester United have confirmed they’ve activated a one-year extension to Harry Maguire’s contract. Author - Olivia T Maguire playing for Man United in 2020 The 31-year-old defender, who joined from Leicester City in 2019, was due to see his deal expire this summer. However, the extension means he’ll remain at Old Trafford until June 2026. Maguire has so far made 222 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and winning two major trophies: the Carabao Cup in 2023 and the FA Cup in 2024 . The centre-back remains determined to add more silverware to his collection in the years ahead.
