Football: Lincoln City 4 - 2 Bolton Wanderers
Lincoln all but ended Bolton’s play-off ambitions on Easter Monday.
This was achieved with a pulsating 4-2 win at the LNER Stadium, where veteran striker James Collins struck twice.

Erik Ring and Reeco Hackett were also on the scoresheet for the hosts. Jay Matete and Alex Murphy replied for Bolton, who slipped to a fourth straight defeat at the worst possible time.
The Imps took an early lead when Ring’s inswinging cross, delivered from a short corner routine, sailed through a crowded box and nestled into the far corner of Nathan Baxter’s net.
Ben House went close to doubling the advantage, but Baxter saved well from his flicked effort. Moments later, Lincoln were awarded a penalty after Ethan Erhahon was bundled over by David Abimbola.
Collins then stepped up and lashed the spot-kick into the roof of the net to make it 2-0 after just 17 minutes.

Bolton pulled one back out of nothing shortly before the half-hour mark. Matete picked up the ball 20 yards from goal and rifled a low drive beyond George Wickens.
Murphy then drew the visitors level, meeting Josh Dacres-Cogley’s cross with a header that deflected off Abimbola and wrong-footed the Lincoln goalkeeper.
The home side were not finished. Collins restored the lead eight minutes into the second half, glancing in a precise header from Sean Roughan’s pinpoint delivery.
Hackett then produced the moment of the match. Shaping to cross from 30 yards out, he spotted Baxter out of position and curled a low free-kick inside the near post. The ball clipped the upright and crossed the line before the Bolton keeper could recover.
Wickens preserved the two-goal cushion with a superb save to deny George Thomason’s close-range header, and Bolton’s evening ended on an even sourer note when Dacres-Cogley was shown a red card in added time.
Bolton need a miracle now
Poor results in recent weeks have cost Bolton. It now looks highly likely that they'll miss out on the play-offs and a chance to return to the Championship.
It will be interesting to see and hear how fans respond to this situation over the next two matches
