Football: Exeter City 1 - 1 Wigan Athletic
Wigan were held to a frustrating draw at Exeter
Wigan Athletic were made to settle for a point at St James Park, as Reece Cole's second-half strike earned Exeter City a 1–1 draw in a scrappy affair.

It was the hosts who had the first real sight of goal after 13 minutes, but Joel Colwill could only blaze his effort high and wide following a lay-off from Josh Magennis.
Wigan responded well through Maleace Asamoah, whose lively play down the flank saw him cut inside sharply, only to see his effort comfortably gathered by Exeter keeper Joe Whitworth.
Chances were few and far between in a largely cagey first half. Sam Tickle was called into action to keep out a long-range attempt from Cole, who then fired another effort over the bar from the resulting corner.
The breakthrough came six minutes after the restart when Asamoah was brought down in the box by Angus MacDonald. Dale Taylor kept his cool from the spot, sending Whitworth the wrong way to put the Latics ahead.
Wigan looked the more likely to score again, and Asamoah came close to doubling the lead with a sharp effort that was brilliantly stopped by Whitworth.

But the home side pulled level in the 69th minute. A long throw caused problems in the Wigan box, and Cole was on hand to volley home from 18 yards, with the ball bouncing awkwardly before nestling into the far corner.
The Latics nearly snatched all three points late on when Asamoah found himself in a great position, but he rushed the finish and sent his lob just wide of the target.
It was a missed opportunity for Wigan, who had shown flashes of quality but ultimately had to settle for a share of the spoils.
