Football: Bolton Wanderers 0 - 1 Rotherham United
Bolton Wanderers were left frustrated after narrow defeat to Rotherham
They suffered a frustrating evening at the Toughsheet Community Stadium as a dominant performance failed to yield a result, with Rotherham United snatching a 1-0 win through Sam Nombe's early strike.

The visitors took full advantage of their only clear-cut chance, capitalising on a misplaced pass from Gethin Jones in the 11th minute. Nombe finished clinically to give the Millers the lead against the run of play.
From that moment on, it was one-way traffic as Bolton relentlessly pressed forward in search of an equaliser. Despite creating numerous opportunities, Wanderers were repeatedly denied by an inspired performance from Rotherham goalkeeper Cameron Dawson.

The stopper made vital saves to thwart Josh Dacres-Cogley, John McAtee, Aaron Collins and George Johnston. McAtee came agonisingly close in the second half, rounding Dawson only to see his effort strike the outside of the post. Hakeem Odoffin also made two crucial blocks on the goal line to keep the visitors ahead.

As the match wore on, Bolton increased the pressure and laid siege to the Rotherham goal in the closing stages. However, they were unable to find a breakthrough, with Dawson producing another outstanding stop to deny Collins from close range in the final moments.
Fan reaction
One Bolton Wanderers season ticket holder: "We don’t make our possession count nearly enough, this has been a running theme with this sids throughout the season. There has been too many games this where we have created a number of clear chances, not taken them and then ended up losing or drawing."
