Rugby League: Hull FC 4 - 46 Wigan Warriors
Wigan Warriors bounce back with dominant win ahead of their upcoming Las Vegas showdown
The 2024 Super League Champions stormed back to winning ways with a ruthless performance against Hull FC, setting the stage for next week's landmark trip to Las Vegas to face Warrington Wolves.
Just a week after their shock 1-0 golden-point defeat to Leigh Leopards, Matty Peet’s men delivered a performance reminiscent of their previous all-conquering campaign, brushing aside Hull FC at the MKM Stadium.

Jai Field stole the show in the first half, crossing for two tries, while Abbas Miski and Patrick Mago also got in on the act as Wigan raced into a commanding 22-0 lead at the break.
Hull briefly threatened a response after the restart when Lewis Martin went over in the corner, but Wigan quickly snuffed out any hope of a comeback. Jordan Rapana’s short goal-line dropout backfired, allowing Tom Forber to capitalise for a fifth Warriors try. Moments later, another electric break from Field set up Jake Wardle to put the result beyond doubt.

Field wasn’t finished there. He completed his hat-trick with a slick move off the back of a scrum before Bevan French rounded off the scoring with a clinical finish on the right wing.
Last week’s historic loss to Leigh proved to be the wake-up call Wigan needed. Against Hull, they looked every bit the quadruple winners who dominated 2024, showcasing their trademark attacking flair and defensive steel.
What else has been happening in Wigan?
Field was at the heart of everything, serving a reminder of his quality after a relatively quiet seven-try season last year. Wigan were relentless in both attack and defence, making crucial gains with ball in hand and forcing Hull into errors, including three tackles that bundled opposition players into touch.
Hull’s brief moment of hope, courtesy of Martin’s try, was quickly extinguished. On a long night for the Black and Whites, Wigan’s response was emphatic – and they’ll head to Vegas full of confidence.

Phillip, a huge Wigan fan, said: "That was a vast improvement from last week's defeat against Leight. It's early days but that looked like we were setting a tone for the rest of the 2025 season."
