Football: FC United of Manchester 3 - 2 Bamber Bridge
An entertaining match in the 7th tier of English football
FC United of Manchester fought off a stubborn Bamber Bridge to claim three points at Broadhurst Park in Moston

First half goals for Jay Fitzmartin and Dylan Mottley-Henry put FC United firmly in the ascendency, before Jack Baxter’s strike made it 2-1 just before the break.
Former Reading and Hibs forward Adam Le Fondre then scored the hosts third on the hour mark, before an error by Conor O’Keefe gave the visitors a glimpse of hope with time running out.
However, The Red Rebels fended off any late comeback attempts and held on to make it back-to-back wins and extend their unbeaten run to six games. Some fans after the match said that they have an outside chance of qualifying for the end of season play-offs.

A closer look at what happened
There was a resolute last ten minutes from the home side which meant they held on to deny Bamber Bridge a chance at an equaliser. They were able to enact revenge following the 4-0 defeat away against the same opposition earlier this season.
The FC United fans created a fantastic atmosphere throughout which helped their team over the line. There was some great chants to the tune of Sweet Child of Mine by Guns N Roses and Anarchy in the UK by the Sex Pistols.
What also amazed me was the overall matchday experience at Broadhurst Park. There was an outstanding band on before the match under the stand and there was an excellent choice of food and drink. Premier League clubs could learn a lot. It's just a pity there wasn't more people in attendance.
The band Lunar Drift performing before the match.
Once the full-time whistle was blown, many fans ventured into the impressive clubhouse where the friendly and energetic atmosphere continued. Again, I was amazed by the facilities.
If you're ever stuck for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, I would recommend a trip to Broadhurst Park. Excellent value for money.
