PSG 4 - 2 Manchester City
Another bad night in Europe for City
Manchester City's hopes of progressing in the Champions League are hanging by a thread after they squandered a two-goal lead to suffer a dramatic defeat against Paris St-Germain at the Parc des Princes.
On a grim, rain-soaked evening in Paris, all the weaknesses that have plagued City during a season of struggles were brutally exposed. Pep Guardiola's side fell apart under the relentless pace and creativity of PSG.
This loss leaves City on the brink of elimination, sitting 25th in the table. They now face a must-win match at home against Club Brugge next Wednesday to keep their Champions League campaign alive.

The night in Paris was packed with drama. City looked to have seized control when substitute Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland scored twice in the opening eight minutes of the second half. But PSG’s attacking threat kept City’s defence on edge throughout, and the hosts hit back almost immediately. Ousmane Dembélé and Bradley Barcola levelled the score before the hour mark.
Dembélé rattled the bar shortly after, before the exceptional João Neves headed in Vitinha’s free-kick, punishing City’s sloppy marking. To add to their misery, a powerful strike from Gonçalo Ramos in stoppage time – confirmed after a lengthy VAR review – gave PSG a well-deserved fourth goal.
While close-range efforts from Grealish and Haaland had briefly put City ahead, PSG’s strength, speed, and quality shone through to complete a thrilling comeback, deepening the sense of crisis for the reigning Premier League champions.

That was truly shocking: Man City fans respond
Another City fan in the away end told me: "The recent performances have been truly shocking, yet many fans who have followed City closely over the past few seasons saw this decline coming. The team has been struggling due to an aging squad, positional confusion, and a lack of the hunger that drives great performances.
"Pep Guardiola is largely responsible for this downward trend, as he seems unable to recognize the issues within a malfunctioning team. Although the new signings, including the incoming Omar Marmoush, may provide some assistance, I still question why a defensive midfielder has not been brought in yet."
